Field & Flash

Field & Flash
12′ x 16″, oil
The little orange and yellow maple was so flashy next to a rather dull field.

Extra Seasoning - SOLD

Extra Seasoning
9″ x 12″, oil
This one sorta feels like all four seasons wrapped into one–loaded with color!

Summer Blues

Summer Blues

Figure Sketch

Figure Sketch
8″ x 10″, oil
I’ve been trying to work more on figures and faces lately. It seems like a lifetime ago since I’ve done life drawing, and life painting was totally new to me. This was really fun, I hope I have a chance to explore this some more.

Rolling Road

Rolling Road
10″ x 10″, oil
Southwestern Wisconsin is rich with these rolling farm scenes.

Jean Acres Barn – NFS

Jean Acres Barn
12″ x 16″, oil
This beautiful barn was sadly destroyed by a tornado last year. It has been replaced with a wonderful new barn that will be used for rustic events and weddings, but this classic old barn is still sorely missed by the Jean family. I was happy to honor it’s memory with a painting, I hope the Jean family will enjoy this tribute.

Rockdale Crossing – SOLD

Rockdale Crossing
12″ x 16″, oil
This is the second of a commissioned series. I trudged thru quite a bit of snow over the past winter getting winter photos of our wonderful Camrock Park.

Barn Study

Barn Study
5 ” x 7″, oil
Another local barn that I drive by often.

Creek Bend Barn – SOLD

Creek Bend Barn
9″ x 12″
Another Camrock painting. This beautiful farm can be viewed from one of the trails, and in the winter you can just make it out from the bridge. This one found a home with “It’s in the Barn“.

Winter Treeline

Winter Treeline
9″ x 12″
This was the result of a “painting day” with my mom and daughter. It was refreshing to be out of my own studio painting in my mom’s lovely studio (my old bedroom!). I didn’t know what I wanted to paint that day, so I just grabbed from mom’s pile of old landscape photos. My daughter picked her favorite subject, Pokemon!

Winter Hedgerow

Winter Hedgerow
16″ x 20″, oil
This one was painted on a quite rough textured canvas. Certainly a different feel, but the extra “tooth” has some nice effects I think.

Long Winter

Long Winter20″ x 30″, oil
I think this is my largest painting so far. I like the idea of a large painting with a simple subject–just seems to work.

Winter Shade

Winter Shade
9″ x 12″, oil
I realized after starting this one, that I did almost this exact scene as a summer painting last year. I’m also starting to lose count of how many times I’ve painted that group of poplars and cedars in the distance. I guess I’ve gotten pretty attached to Roger’s prairie. I feel so lucky that he lets me take walks on his property, it is so beautiful in every season.

Little Gateway

Little Gateway
oil, 6" x 6"
Another in my series of Camrock paintings. One of the last photos I took while exploring the bike trails throughout Camrock Park. This will be one of a foursome of recent 6" x 6" paintings that will be on display at the upcoming Art Council Masquerade event in Cambridge.
I also created this funky mask that will be auctioned at the event...
