"13"

"13"
8" x 10", oil

Just got this done in time, I wanted to paint this while my son is still 13. Another mighty struggle with pretty much everything in this one, but it's done and he likes it.

It's from a vacation photo taken in Arizona along the original Route 66. All that's left are the telephone poles to show where the road was.

  3. Wow Carrie! I recognized my grand-son immediately. You really brought the photo to life. It looks like Casey is contemplating what it would be like someday day to drive his car down Route 66 all the way to California. I love it!

  5. Hey Carrie, thanks for checking out my blog so I could find yours! Wow, I LOVE this painting of your son, beautifully loose and the light on his arms tells a whole story in itself about the atmosphere of the place. I t makes me think of a scene out of a desert road trip movie, very cool.
